Marines Beat Down a Civilian in Cilandak

Thursday May 17, 2012 some marines beat down a civilian in a marine base Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The witness, mr.Anto, said there was a conflict that when a civilian name Adi Suparjo was riding his motorbike, he bump in to marine’s motorbike when the marine is trying to get in the road from a nearby shop. The marine is angry then he get off the bike and stop mr.Adi Suparjo’s bike. They went to the conflict then a group of marines showed up and standed up for their friend. They both wont give up or apologies. Mr. Adi called some witnesses to explain what was happened.

The witnesses said that mr. Adi ride his motorbike so fast in the edge of the street and that marines wont stop the turn because he expected mr. Adi to stop. “They both made the mistake, you should wait for the turn” said one of the witness when he pointed to the marine “and you should ride your motorbike slower and watch where you ride it” cleared the witness to mr. Adi.

And still they had mouth fighting each other to proof their statement. The situation was getting hotter when the marine pushes mr. Adi  on his shoulder. Mr. Adi wont stay calm and hit the marine once. After mr. Adi hit him, a group of marine didn't stay calm either when their friend get a hit. The marines beat mr. Adi down badly until the surrounding civilian separated them. Some of the civilian was scared because they’re dealing with some marines and failed to stop their rage to mr. Adi. The beat down act stopped when a higher rank marine showed up to see what’s happened in front of his house and hardly rebuked the marines to stop.

Mr. Adi immediately taken to the nearest hospital in the marine’s base hospital. “Why did you all did this? This kind of act was embarrassing the marine’s reputation” rebuked the general to his subordinate. “If you all did this kind of act again, you all will be expelled from the marines” shout the general. The civilian around that area was lightly mocking at them. There were no causalities in this incident.

Gladly Mr. Adi just had a light damage in the stomach and his head. He was bleeding because his gum got a hit. “Mr. Adi didn't sue the marines” said the witness. “it will be a long incident if he sue the marines, and he might be targeted by their marines friends” cleared Mr. Anto with fright-chuckle. Although a marine, the human rights are equals to the entire civilization. Don't get too arrogant even though you are officials, marine, police, minister and else.
